Sustainability and Energy Value Advisors (SEVA) is a legitimizing organization focused on establishing, verifying, and certifying sustainability processes, standards, and best practices.
We offer our clients objectivity and independence while simultaneously bringing industry, academic, and government and regulatory experience, knowledge, and perspectives to our work, following a corporate business model. We work to solve the most pressing issues and seek answers to the toughest questions regarding sustainability.
SEVA features a collaboration with the International Research Institute for Climate & Society at Columbia University, bringing together decades of experience and skills to provide standardized and tailored solutions for our clients.
Using proven techniques including those introduced by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, SEVA works with companies and other organizations to assess and disclose how their financial well-being and operations could be affected by climate-related impacts and how their operational footprint could impact climate. SEVA’s guidance is informed by expert analysis provided by some of the world’s leading climate scientists.
Managing climate and sustainability risks is key to making informed decisions in areas including capital allocation, project finance, and insurance coverage. SEVA applies its tools and expertise to accurately assess risks associated with climate and sustainability and thereby support the development of sound mitigation strategies.
SEVA assesses energy transition activity, including complementary public policy initiatives, to determine its implications for companies, the economy (including energy, industrial/manufacturing, and agriculture), society, national security, and geopolitics. We work with governments and the private sector to identify and high-grade risks and develop risk-mitigation strategies to mitigate them.
Climate and weather patterns are having profound impacts on economic and societal activities globally. Through its collaboration with Columbia University’s International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI), SEVA uses sophisticated modeling and analytic capabilities to help organizations maneuver the complexities associated with understanding and forecasting future patterns over short, medium, and long-term time horizons.
Sustainability and climate performance have direct and indirect impacts on a company’s financial performance by reducing risk and cost of capital.
